Welcome to our end-of-year newsletter! As we reflect on 2022, we are thrilled to report that this was a year of incredible growth and success for FreeWire and the electric vehicle (EV) industry. In 2022 alone, our technology supported over 30 thousand charging sessions and output over 720 megawatt hours of energy.
More consumers than ever turned to electric transportation this year, reflected in the increased sales of EVs, reinforcing the critical need for charging infrastructure to meet the demand for public fast charging.
Major highlights of the year include partnership announcements with Parkland, Chevron, and Phillips 66, among other industry leaders. These collaborations allow customers to rapidly scale their charging network and make convenient ultrafast charging services more widely available to EV drivers.
In addition, we also had a successful Series D financing round, raising $150M in investment in FreeWire with global investment firm Blackrock leading the way. This new funding allows FreeWire to accelerate the expansion of our manufacturing and service offers, hire top talent, and continue advancing R&D at our new headquarters in Newark, California.
We also introduced several new products in 2022, including the Boost Charger™ 200 and AMP™ software, which have been met with great enthusiasm from our customers. Our cutting-edge charging stations are now faster than ever, compatible with heavy-duty fleet vehicles, and can be remotely managed to further improve ROI.
The recent acquisition of Mobilyze.ai, a platform that leverages AI to help site hosts strategically place fast-charging stations, provides our customers with valuable insights to strategically and efficiently meet driver demand.
Overall, it has been a year of tremendous advancements for our company. We are grateful for the support of our partners, investors, and customers, and we look forward to continuing to lead the charge in the EV space in 2023.
